I'll be quitting my job in March and looking for a low keep spot to hang out and surf for about 2 months. Open to all suggestions but looking to stay in the tropics, would consider somewhere where a 3/2 would be fine. I bodyboard and recently took up longboarding, so looking for a beginner to intermediate wave in a low key, uncrowded spot. Looking for cheap accommodations, maybe rent an apartment or something like that for the 2 months. Been to Esterillos, Bejuco, Jaco, Mal Pais, Montezuma, Puerto Viejo, and Santa Teresa, and Fiji. Esterillos was a chill spot with a great longboard wave to the left of the Mermaid but really no place to stay long term. Anyone have any suggestions or spots I might want to check out?

Check out Samara Costa Rica. I had a studio apt that cost $350 a month(its on craiglist for $395 now) and it was a easy 2 minute walk to the surf spot. Go to C & C surf for your boards. With 1 surf lesson($35 and ask for Didier as the instructor) you get a board rental for a week. There is also a Pali(big grocery store) right by the studio.

The best time to surf there is 1.5 hours before till 1.5 hours after high tide.

Any other questions hit me up! I went to some other spots in CR but this meets your criteria.

in south america it'll be summer then, on the pacific side we always got waves, it's really cheap comparing to other places, here in Punta Hermosa, Peru, just lodging special rates for a month paid upfront would be about $200US, with meals about $540, march is end of summer but weather stays nice till may, if you got any questions, be glad to help out.

Yeah my friend stayed in Costa Rica in a Wimdu room for a month and said it was incredible, i don't know where she stayed but she said she had her own place for the month and it was pretty cheap! i'll have to find out. I'm very jealous by the way.
