Where to work and surf?

Hello there!

This year I am graduation -if everything is going right- and after that I really want to travel for a year and spend my time with learning how to surf. This summer I went to a surfcamp for a week and I was immediatly addicted haha. Besides that I really want to improve my english, because it's really bad and by traveling the work I hope to succeed in that.

The only problem is that I don't have much money, so I was wondering if there is a place where you can combine a job with surfing. I don't care what kind of job it is, if I just can surf in my time off. I also don't care where to go, but the must is that you can surf there of course and it would be really nice if there are more people haha.
I was thinking of joining a crew of a surfcamp, but I have heard it's very hard to get in a crew and I can't find much information about it on the internet. So I thought maybe I can post something on this forum, and maybe some of you have tips for me?

I don't know where you are, but if you want to work and surf, go to Australia. If your in Australia, you probably wouldn't be asking this question.

This is a great time for you to travel abroad since you just graduated school. You can do all sorts of jobs in surf towns (barista, bartender, waiter, ect.) and you make a good minimum wage ($17ish AUD).

Jobs are difficult to find in the States but San Diego is a big city with opportunities for employment and well above average surf.

Australia sounds nice too.

IF you do plan to come to Australia make sure your visa allows you to work.
You will be asked questions at Customs and Immigration to see if you can support yourself during your stay.
Warning wrong answers or visa you could be turned back immediately
There are under the radar jobs but they often exploit the people working.
