nexxt summer i might just be going to new zealand with my ma and sister. my grandads told me that south islands prettiest, but where would be nice for me to surf (small is better than huge) and for my mum to sunbathe and my sister to shop? any ideas is great thankyou.

number two. if i could save the £715 plane fare etc to oahu in the summer, where would be a good place to surf, bearing in mind im a longboarder, and am a bit scared in anyting over 4 feet. (brit stylee) but saying that, a challenge is good, and i know summer is the flat season an all but i wouldnt even dip a toe in the winter, despite having to be at school. so, i digress... good (cheap) places to surf, eat and stay, oahu in the summer. thankyou again..

Thats easy. Depending if you will bring your board, on Oahu you can go to Waikiki or Barbers point. I think you can rent board at both places however they are both crowded breaks. Theres a restaurant at barbers point but thats it but its really sunny there. Waikiki has everything as you probably know. These places dont have big surf but the summer bring south swells and they are both on the south side. Theres also a lot of breaks near ala moana and diamond head but they are more for locals. Waikiki and barbers point are for tourists and beginners mostly. Hope that helped.
