Medevac Insurance Indonesia

Hi!

I´m a spanish surfer travelling to Mentawai soon, I´m trying to find a good/any medical insurance that covers medical evacuation (helicopter) and perhaps emergency repatriation (air). I´ve checked a few common ones but they are only for UK/US/Australian residents.

I´ve done a quick search in spanish too, but haven´t found anything remotely interesting...

Does anyone know of an insurance company that would offer that kind of cover to europeans travelling that far?

Hola Bobes I don't know how it is in Spain but if you have booked your travel with an agency maybe they have a link to insurance.
Also some top level credit cards offer insurance too hope that helps because as you can see from one of the other posts a much loved American surfer died there recently.
I know too that most resorts won't allow you to stay without viewing valid insurance documents.
Last but not least there is no way I would recommend an Indonesian hospital stay, their intentions are good but the stay could cost you an arm and a leg literally and figuratively. The least you would come out with is a severely wounded wallet. GOOD LUCK

I am glad your brought this up. I hadn't thought of it yet, and preparing for a crisis is the best way to prevent a crisis. Here is a link to a company that offers several forms of international and travel insurance.
