West Coast Ireland end of June

Postby noddyinbude » Sun May 15, 2011 6:24 pm

Hey all not been on here for a while but finally got myself a van through work and the missus to agree to a trip to ROI for surfing drinking chilling holiday.

Simple enough question but where would people recommend or avoid over there, I'm only looking for mellow beachies and a hassle free trip as I'm no expert and don't want to be getting in the way of any locals at anywhere too 'secret'

The basic plan is ferry over to Rosslare then head to the West coast and head up or down for 8 nights then loop back for the ferry home and back to Cornwall, I quite fancy a couple of nights on proper campsites but would love a few just down by a quiet little beach to relax with the missus + BBQ and grab a few chilled sessions.

Any hints tips or suggestions gratefully received,

Cheers

Noddy

Take it easy and avoid trying to cover a great distance or you'll end up driving all the time. Roads are laughable off the main N routes! You'll have no probs finding chilled beachbreaks around Claire/Galway and plenty of campsites about.

Nice one thanks for that, maybe we'd be better off just heading to one area or two areas and sticking to those. So tough just looking at maps etc and trying to plan a trip
