What are some good breaks in FL? When are they good and how many people surf there?
If I wanted to take a trip there in october, would it be worth it?

good luck, i was asking about spots in fl a few weeks ago before my trip down there, and no one replied. i was dwon on the gulf side near tampa - no surf. made it there after charley and before frances, so no hurricane waves either. i think you have waves on the east side though. my trip was a family thing though, so i had to go where they wanted to go. i would visit ron jon's surf shop on cocoa beach, its a pretty cool shop. huge. good luck and have a nice trip.

Gulf coast only has waves if there is a big storm out in the gulf. This is a good time of the year for the east coast though. The hole east coast down to Ft Pierce there might be waves. check out surfline and you have the good spots. later.

i from the gulf coast and we usually have a great winter and into spring so we DO get surf. summer it isnt the best but east coast gets some. all the storms have been giving clean waves getting to 6-8 feet. but ive seen bigger here. everyone thinks gulf is flat but take it from a surfer who LIVES here...its not that bad.

Well I wasn't to impressed with the gulf even though there was a catagory 4 hurricane right next to us. It was only chest high sets. horrible for a hurricane to be right off the coast. I did get a couple rides but meh I will stick to traveling to the east coast.
st. augustine is good place for surf, real good at times.
