Hi,

I have started surfung this August in Bali. Enjoyed it but was thinking about trying another locations to broaden outlook. Planning a surf-trip for New Year holidays.
Would appreciate your advice on whether Dominikana is worth it or I would better go back to Bali

Thank you.

Bali in January is the rainy season, make sure you go to North Coast, not south, it will be onshore all the time.

Where did you start surfing in Bali? There are not many beginner friendly spots apart from the beach between Kuta and Seminyak and I can't really see a reason why a beginner should go to Bali just for a surfing holiday when he will not be able to surf those perfect and rather intimidating reef breaks. And since Kuta beach itself is not really that consistent or good (apart from the offshore winds and I had them all day when I was there a few weeks ago) you can pretty much go anywhere else beachy and appreciate Bali when you're decent.

you talking Dominicana, or the Dominican Republic?

Bali is great, however januari is rainy season indeed. DR in Januari is prime wave season.
