anyone know where to go in texas to get actual waves? not just the standard mush? there is supposed to be some good swell soon... I was wondering if anyone knew of any good, uncrowded spots.

good texas waves

It always depends on the direction of the swell...usually the farther south you go in Texas, the better the waves. Try Horace Caldwell Pier in Port Aransas or drive down to South Padre.

st. jo's island

Postby surfinjilly » Tue Sep 28, 2004 1:22 pm

st. jo's island has fun longboarding waves. you can paddle across the ship channel or take the jetty boat outta Fisherman's Wharf. no cars, no hotels, no crowds. ahhh bliss!

I've never done Texas in the Gulf, but I've logged many days in P-Cola, FL. Gulf surfing in that area is alive and well with beautiful water and great surf.
