Surf Camps

Postby honusurfer67 » Wed Jun 23, 2010 6:25 pm

I am looking for a solid surf camp in either Costa Rica or Nicaragua. Any recommendations?

Or find some digs in Playa Grande & procure some lessons.

Not a huge fan of surf camps but Witch's Rock in Tamarindo looks interesting.

I did a surf trip with Beach Travellers and loved it! It was a 13 day trip with really cool, laidback people and guides. We did a ton of surfing and also some other cool activities like a zip line tour... An additional plus was that I got to work on my spanish and french! surf au costa rica for la pura vida!

Tamarindo, Costa Rica has a ton of surf schools in the area. The beach break there are pretty gentle so it's great for beginners but if you're looking for something more challenging they have bigger breaks there too like Witchs rock and Ollie's point. If you're looking for one of those packaged deal that includes accommodation you might want to try this: http://www.surfelements.com/trip/surf-c ... sta-rica/2

There are a lot of options especially in the Northwest pacific coast in the Guanacaste area so you should shop around and see what's being offered.

In Nicaragua you should look at GreenSurfNicaragua. They are super chill, located in El Transito, North Central Nicaragua. THey still get the offshore winds, but no crowds whatsoever. They treated me well on my trip. Here is a video I made from being there.
