Any surfers in the Algarve region July/August 2010?

Hello there!
2 friends of mine and I are spending two months in the Algarve this summer to work on a farm and do some surfing. We were wondering if any locals wanted to meet up or could give us some info, like where to get boards from (preferrably cheap...)? Is it better to rent one or maybe even buy a used one and then sell it again?

how did you go? did you get any waves? i was in algarve in July for a bit and got ordinary waves but lved the place.... definitely going back again and again even if the waves arent all time....gotta love 90euro cent beers sitting on the beach watching sunset n chilling!!
