Has Dreamland in Bali gone?? I'm heading back soon

I surfed Bali for 3 months back in 2007 and had the time of my life. The waves weren't absolutley massive by that stage (Apr, May time) which suited my level and probably still does. Dreamland was my favourite - not necessarily the wave (Balalangan was definitely the number one spot for me) but for the chilled out Warung atmosphere and relatively cheap accom and food prices. However before we left, there were rumours circulating that Dreamland would be torn down to make way for a xxxxx new big hotel authorised by the royal family. They were already building the golf course while I was there.
My question is: Are there area's nearby that still have the relatively cheap accom? Has Balangan been developed as well? and if so does anyone know the cost of staying per night at these places now?
I'm only there for 5 days surfing this time (passing through) and I want to be somewhere, where I can wake up and hop in the water striaght away. Also if there is a place at balangan to stay can I pre - book a spot over the net or is it turn up and hope for the best?

Any help would be awesome guys
Cheers
Junior

Hi,
I was there recently, it's true there is now a huge concrete building on Dreamlandes and I don't know about the accomodations.
But I was staying at Bingin (plenty of guesthouses) and did the walk twice a day to Dreamlands, also my favorite and much less scary than Bingin ;-)
