Looking for family-friendly Caribbean spot

Hi folks,
I want to take a surf trip to somewhere in the Caribbean this March, but I'll have a family in tow (wife and two boys, age 4 and 7).
Can anyone recommend a place that has decent surf (doesn't have to be great), and has a town nearby where my family can do stuff while I'm in the water?
Thanks a lot,
Moe

Hi Moe,
I am managing a very nice small scaled apartment Hotel here on the north coast in the Dominican Republic. We are located right at the best surfspot Playa Encuentro right next to the well known watersport town Cabarete. We have a lot of active families staying in our place and the set up is perfect for that. The surf is very good here and the main surf seasons lasts until end of April. The beach is only 200meters away and very beautiful, so your wife could walk to the beach or back to the apartment individual while you surf. There is also a very good surfschool in case your kids would like to try surfing or if you need to rent boards. Apart from the surfing, there are a lot of other things to do and to see. Trips to waterfalls, diving and snorkeling, horseback riding, wakeboarding and many other things. In Cabarete you can find very good restaurants and bars set up very beautiful at the beach. <edit ad removed>
Best regards from Hooked Cabarete.
