hello
sorry for english - i am learning spanish!
i am travelling to peru in may for a photo project in the amazon. i will possibly only have the end of august and september to go surfing.
can anyone please advise me whether the areas around huanchaco or mancora will be more consistent? storm rider guides suggest mancora is very inconsistent at this time of the year. where as magicseaweed suggest both places are amazingly consistent!!!!
i am also concerned about water temps - will huanchaco be ok in a full length 2/3mm suit?
also, most of our my money is invested in the amazon work, so any advice on living cheap/volunteering/teaching english or photography for food and accomodation would be greatly appreciated...
many thanks
james

Huanchaco at that time should be a bit more consistent with swells from the south, though Mancora is the nicer place to visit with more things to do when the sun goes down. I would suggest a 3/2.

Sorry, don't know anything about employment.

mancora most probably won't have surf, up there is tropical though, huanchaco is more consistant, pretty long left and chicama is about 2 hours away, should definitely go there if a good swell hits, you can stay at either place starting at 15 soles(under $6us), you can also check out south of Lima, here we have different types of breaks, i can maybe help out with the lodging in change of help around the house depending on the time of year you come.
