Surfing in spain QUESTIONS

Hi, next school year I want to go study to Spain for one year and thene there want to try and to learn surfing. But question is, where. I have 2 posibilieties. First and cheaper one is Gijon and second more expensive is Gran Canaria. Where is better condiciones for surfing? Im totaly beginner :roll: I now, on Gran Canariais better weather, but dont know nothing, how about waves there. Thx

sorry I didn't see the post before...
I live in Tenerife, I know some people from Gran Canaria and there is definetly a lot of good waves over there, you got beach brakes, reef brakes and really good conditions and warm water :-) The island is nice and you also have a lot of good party going :beer: on and beautiful chicks :D

I have also been living in Asturias for one year so I can tell you something about Gijon. People over there are usually more open to people from other places, really friendly and you make friends quickly. There are some really good waves over there as there is the "Playa de San Lorenzo", the local beach, but it usually gets really crowded. If you get to have a car you can go to a lot of good places close to gijon where you have empty line - ups and really good waves.
