Anything i have nt thought of.
Thanks in advance

I took a quick look at wanna surf dot com. You can find some of the info you are looking for by reviewing each break summarized there. There are breaks on all sides of the island and, I'm sure you know, it's not very large. I saw things like water temps and conditions for the different parts of the island for different seasons. In the comments section, one guy wrote about good times in December at (?)Cowtilla. It all looks pretty cool. I bet you have a great time.

I just got back from fuerteventura, i hired a car for 4 days and a jeep for the last day to get round the north shore 'track' which to be honest the car would have been fine for just a bit bumpy thats all. Cottillo (west of the island near the top) has a nice beach break at the bottom of the cliffs and you will find surf schools go there most days so all good for beginers ect.. flag beach (in correlejo)was good for us when the tide was out everywhere else (majanicho, north shore, rocky point ect..) nice beach too. If you wanna try an easy ish reef then rocky point (in correlejo) was good and you might also want to drive to majanicho which is also a reef break right at the very north of the island but had excellent 6ft waves at high tide well worth a go.
I wouldn't worry too much about a jeep I saw plenty of cars going round the north track the surface is pretty much the same as at the top of cotillo if you go there you'll see what i mean. also if you get to cotillo cliff tops park up next to the old loose brick wall's on the bumpy track for a minute and the see the chipmonks weird little things they are but really tame they eat out of your hand haha..
Good luck.

standard 3/2 wetsuit for feb, you can get away with boardies until early nov, then it chills off a bit, i hired a vauxhall corsa, which took the north track well (no matter how hard we tried). one tip i would give is, dont tell the hire company you are a surfer, they will insist on hiring you a roof rack (about the same price as the car hire). leave your board behind when you pick up the car, just take a soft rack or some bungee straps.then dont drive past the hire shop with boards on roof. they caught us with a long board, goatee, 2 short boards and a knee board all tied down with bungees as we drove past the hire shop

a T4 says Cottillo is a nice beach break.

Hi, i also am heading to Fuerteventura in Feb, i have been there in Oct/Nov 10 and the surf was awesome. Hopefully it'll be just as good in feb although do you think it'll be alittle chilly? what do you mean by a 2/3 wetsuit?
I went to El Cotillo, like the others have mentioned it's pretty sweet up there and should take you about an hour/hr half at a guess from where you say you are staying. I am a newish to surfin having tried it for afew weeks afew years ago now its all i want to do every year, so ill hopefully be heading there for some lessons cos i nearly got crushed in El Cotillo

but didn't frighten me enough to give up
have a great time!

Hey, I'm going to lanzarote in a week, we have to go there because of flights on a sunday, just wondering if anybody knows can we catch a bus to cotillo from corralajo or do you have to rent a car? we may end up doing a day trip or two to fuerte because looking at forcasts the beach in lanzarote seems to be always onshore while cotillo looks nice offshore, thanks a million

hi BB,
there are buses from corralejo to cotillo but you can't take your board on and they take about an hour.
