Where can I surf where I won't be hassled

Where can I surf warm waters in the Western Hemisphere where I won't be hassled by locals or other surfers who are more experienced riders than myself.

I think nowhere, but skip the "warm water" then you have endless choise.
I have been in Northern Spain an area called Oyambre - San Vicente. During May June and again in September, very few people around, but swell every day. There is very little to do besides surfing. I usually join a surf scool to get some company.

Novembre and Decembre I have been surfing in Sagres Portugal. Some surfers but not too many. Here is some Cafe restaurants and bars. They are opened, but not many people around.

I use a 6 x 4 x 3 wet suit and I am never cold.

i agree, portugal is great in september-october and you wont need more than a 3/2 to keep warm all day. plus the locals are pretty friendly, ive never had any problems and im not the greatest surfer by any stretch!
peniche is good just north of lisbon and lagos in the algarve is great too
