hey guys,

I'm bringing the mrs to palm beach nsw on monday. She's just started surfing and i'm worried about the swell as there is 4.6 ft of swell coming from the south east. Can anyone tell me how big it could actually get in the southern corner as i don't want her to have any close calls.

Thanks so much.

P.S. Does yoga really help my surfing? Just started a course last week. Thanks again :D

Going to be a 20knot onshore too - don't think it'll be suitable for surfing on monday.

Dunno about Palmy but the Southern corners will always be smaller, problem is that when it's big from the South the rips run North so it's easy to get pulled further up the beach and then there is no way in other than wearing a few sets on the head, which isn't ideal for someone who isn't confident.

I'd say Collaroy would be good if the wind isn't too East but as the surf is forecast to be up to 7ft you'd get swepped North here too and have to deal with the South Narrabeen shorebreak. However, if she stays close to shore and takes the small ones or the whitewater then there shouldn't be any dramas.

thanks for the info. Will just go and have a look then. Funnily enough I was considering collaroy too. May just have to bring some rods and a tackle box and have a go at the lagoon in narra. haha!
