Cali surfing may-sept

Postby drewdrewdrew » Thu Aug 20, 2009 7:32 am

Hi all,

I plan on heading over to the US next year for a few months. I was wondering a few things:

1. What time of the year is best to surf?
2. Where in Cali is good to be surfing? - im not a beginner have been surfing for many years

THANKS!!

Be aware the water is not as clear though. I was in LA, on Redondo beach in early May, water is still cold (for me it was, around 60 degrees) and the swell wasn't as nice as I hoped for, but I might just picked the wrong day. San Diego is much better than LA. Go to La Jolla. They have better surf there. They also have some decent surf shops. Good luck!!

Hi drew,
La Jolla is a little south of San Diego (about 20-30 minutes away from San Diego). It's a small city with nice neighborhoods. I think you'll like it there. Enjoy! PM me if you need more info.

Actually La Jolla is north of San Diego. I do agree though it is a great little spot.

Is it North of SD? Oops, my bad. I get disoriented easily  But yeah, it's a good little place to surf.
