Surfing Waves

Hey I am looking to do a Gap Year before I go to university. I have been surfing for a few weeks but I can stand up and catch the "proper" wave instead of surf. I have been riding 7"4 mini mal and I'm just looking for somewhere I can spend the summer.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

im also on my gap year and looking to go surfing for about 3 months starting in january. been looking quite seriously into marocco. however my rents arent that happy with me going by myself.

any ideas what youre planning on doing yet?

hey .. i was going to go to South Africa with a company called "Ticket to ride" google them - they look pretty good option. A bit expensive though and im really scared of flying haha
so now instead i am going to be spending a month surfing in portugal hopefully google "surf experience portugal" have fun..see you in the lineup
