Hey so i am a new poster to this forum,
6 of us are headed to costa rica in April 2010 for a surf trip, were trying to plan it now and are looking for advice on which route to take in finding the best waves possible. We dont really want to have to flyinto san jose an rent a car so we have been looking at some of these trip on wavehunters and so forth. We would like to have some sort of boat access that can take us to the best breaks each day we are there, even considering a live aboard boat and then maybe spend a day fishing. Does anyone have any suggestions of companies or anything that can help us get the best waves possible. Ohh and this is for a buddy's bachelor party so we may want to get a little bit of the local bar scene as well...

Just got back from a trip to costa a few weeks ago....Had fun solid surf the whole trip. I don't know much about the boat rentals. But you can get to most of the breaks easy enough with a van. And depending where you stay there are always americans or friendly locals who will tell you where the best or worst bars are in the town or city close to you.
