Portugal, Lagos -good beach for beginner

Hi all

I am staying in Lagos in Portugal at beginning of August

Can any one suggest some good spots - I am a beginner (have had a few lessons but much in need of practice)

If someone could recommend a good beach not far from Lagos and where can hire board/wetsuit etc would be really grateful

Hiya

I went to Sagres, we had a hire car though. I'm a relative beginner too.There's a couple of hire board places there. The surf was ok. Nothing intense. But summer is touch and go anyway.
