Hello!
I don't know anything about surf in England!
Any idea where to go surfing for a week end of July? Good waves, not too expensive neither crowded. Ability to rent surf?

The end of July in England is the start of the school holidays. Everywhere will be packed, if not with surfers then with other items bobbing about in the sea. Unless we have really foul weather like last year, surf (if any) will be small. Best of luck and welcome to our world.

You could go to Cornwall/North Devon but timing is everything. Look for major storms around the Azores, for example there is a depression there now but its likely to fizzle out due to cold water. You can get swells from hurricanes up the east coast of the US, but this is more likely late summer. If you do the swell should be nice and clean. If your lucky you turn up to beutiful long period swell where the sea is basically calm but is punctuated by big strong sets. You have to be lucky too because usually local conditions dominate.
