Surfing Waves

Several others and I will be spending a few days in portugal sometime in mid to late July. I am not looking for a school or camp, but I was curious as to know the best way to get to the good surf spots from Lisbon (or which are the closest breaks to lisbon) and perhaps some contact numbers for board rentals, etc. I dont want to get there and end up spending a fortune on taxi rides to a spot that is 2 hours away. I tried to call a couple of numbers from surfline but either I never got an answer or the number no longer worked. Any advice would be great. Thanks
