Surfing Bali - Uluwatu, during the summer

What is surfing in Uluwatu (Bali) like during our (UK) summer? Unfortunately the summer is the only time I can slack off work and go surfing a lot, but I would rather go somewhere warm like Bali than up at the coast freezing my balls off even though its slightly warmer during the summer. Like that matters even though the waves are absolute tripe during the summer here.

Any help is good help for me...

Hey there JG, from what I know, surfing in Uluwatu almost has no down time, but do watch out for underwater rocks, I have a friend who got injured there (minor injury, but still). If no good waves one day, the next day should be better. Water is definitely warm compared to what you're used to up there in UK. And Uluwatu is not the only place you can surf, there's Dreamland, Padang Bay, Medewi, and many more. If you need any help in finding cheap accommodation and any info on Bali, just let me know, I go there often.
Good luck!

Hey indahvoo How s it going? Was reading you go to bali a lot eh? I m gonna be in Bali from november 2011 until march 2012 for a massage therapist course near Kuta and was trying to look into cheap accomodations,..real cheap, consider I live in a van at the moment to save money..
Another thing.. it s rainy season when I m there should it be even cheaper? And do you know if it s ok to surf during the winter? What is it like there for beginner surfers?
Thanks man!

Hey Bogyman,

I apologize for the super late reply. I've been busy. Yes, I do go to Bali quite often. I have some work there. You can get cheap accommodation like 100 US dollars a month, but it may be a bit out of the beach area, like around Denpasar, which is about 25 minutes from Kuta or airport, but you can rent a motorbike (moped) for about 5 dollars a day. If you rent for a long period of time, I'm sure you can get a better deal. Rain or dry season, Bali is about the same. February to late April is the lowest season, not because it's rainy, but it's because there aren't major holidays or vacation times around those months. I was there last March and it was so empty (for Bali). So you can get better deal on flights and hotels. You can surf in Bali anytime of the year, depending on the beach you go to. Canggu is usually for intermediate surfers, Dreamland and Uluwatu is for more advance surfers. PM me if you want more information. Again, sorry for the late respond..
