What boards to take to Indo

Postby wesnelson » Thu Apr 30, 2009 3:48 am

Im going on a boat trip to Indo, never been, but I have been alot of other places. I usually travel with a more diverse quiver. This trip I am bringing a 6-0 thumb thruster, 6-3 thumb thruster, and a 6-4 thumb thruster. My fourth board is in question. Thinkn about bringing a Merrick k-small quad. Its basically a standard shorty but with the quad setup and a little wider outline. I thought it might be fun for the more playful days. Maybe someone reading this has been there and can set me straight!!

Depends where and when you are going. I take a 6'0", 6'4" and 6'6". Be prepared to pay overweight fees on the airlines especially if you are taking 4 boards. The last time I went I was on my regular 6'0 most of the time although I should have taken the 6'4" out more often as you have to paddle twice as hard on the smaller board, as Indo waves are fast so I was getting pretty tired after a while. You should always take your 'big day' board with you don't take a 'small day' board. So just take your regular, a slight 'step up' and a larger board.
