Hi, has anyone traveled on Malaysia airlines with boards. I'm heading to the Maldives in May and was wondering what the charge. According to their website it looks like they are included as one of your checked bags, but it is not exactly clear. I was hoping to hear it from someone who has actually experienced it. Thanks!

..I've flown long haul with Malaysian a couple of times with boards, last time was August'08 with a 7ft bag. There were no extra charges & they were really accomodating so you shouldn't have any issues.

Yes I flew last year with 3 boards in a 7 foot coffin bag. They tried to charge me overweight on the flight out, but we were running late so they let me go. On the flight back I learnt the trick to put the board bag upside down (the softer side down, the bottom of mine is rigid at the back for the wheel area) and the heaviest part hanging off the scales, it reduces the weight by 5 Kg's or more.
