Beginners in Portugal

My boyfriend and I are planning to spend a week in September learning to surf in Portugal. However I'm a sucker for a beautiful sandy beach and a nice hotel which rules out most of the surf schools!

With this kind of criteria does anyone have any reccomendations on where to go, where to stay and a school to attend for a week?
