Anyone been to Biarritz, France

Hi,

Me and a mate learnt to surf last year in Lanzarote, had a great time on Famara beach end of May start of June.

We are thinking of going to Biarritz this year for a week around the same time. Has anyone been and is it any good?
Can anyone recommend a specific resort or beaches, etc. I am looking really for a life guarded beach where I can hire equipment. Hopefully gonna camp.

Many thanks in advance!
Rich.

yeah rich, was there last september, (and i might well be heading back end of may), stayed in Anglet, the youth hostel there, grand place, local beaches are fine for beginners, theres one straight down in Anglet (bascically the whole strip of coast is beach) there are rental places on the beach (i remember there being a few on those beaches in anglet anyway), i rented in biarritz city centre, em, yeah think there were lifeguards there, yeah almost sure there were actually, plenty of people around in summer, fire any more questions you have at me

when i was younger i was in the town just outside and south of biarritz, called bidart, camped, again rented right on the beach, waves good for beginners (in summer anyway) as in anglet...was a nice beach there actually

Hi guys !
youRiding.com is Anglet Based !
you can come to Anglet at this period you'll have small fun wave with not many people in water.
Youth hostel is nice and cheap !
Beware camping Fontaine Laborde wich was next to the beaches, closed definitly last year.
You can't find other camping but not on beach front in Anglet ( except youth hostel )
i guess you'd better go futher north in hossegor you'll have more camping and great sand bars with less crowd
Feel free to ask for any more info
Cheers
