Anybody got any reccomendations for somewhere in the S Pacific with nice waves that's cool to take the wife and kids to?

I'm thinking about Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tahiti, Cook Islands or New Caledonia - all pretty close to home and not too many $$, would just like some ideas on specific areas, places to stay, what the waves are like, best time to go etc.

Not sure I really want to be riding macking Cloudbreak every day either, just looking for some decent non fatal waves to ride and to have a couple of weeks hanging out with the wife and kids somewhere nice.

I've been there.....it's easy to find, just jump on a bus in Papeete, head past Punauia keep going, and it's the last bus stop from memory, beautiful place.

Thanks for the help anyway, Tahiti is definitely an option, although the wife is sounding keen about Vanuatu.
