Anybody been to Sri Lanka?

Postby jumpinggene » Mon Aug 11, 2008 8:47 pm

I've scrolled back a bit to see if people have posted about Sri Lanka before, but seemingly not. And reading all the posts have just made me extremely frustrated at being a landlocked beginner in desperate need of getting some waves!

So.

I have a friend working for the Red Cross who's going to be posted in Sri Lanka later on this year, and it would be a good excuse to go see him (while also catching a few non-UK waves).

Has anyone ever gone surfing in Sri Lanka? Would the waves be noob-friendly? Are there places you can rent a board? I still don't own one, and am not sure that I'd want to pack a brand new board into an Air Sri Lanka hold if I should get one...

Thanks!

Hey !
When it comes to surfing SriLanka is at the top of list . I hope you all are aware of that.
Well according to my experience I think Hikka, Arubambay & Kalpitiya are the best surfing spots in Sri Lanka.
Yes you can rent all the required materials from these places .
