Surfing Waves

Thanks again to those of you who helped me plan my last trip (we went to Oahu instead of Cali but it was awesome). I'm going to Orting for a waterski tournament, and being there 8 days with probably two or three rides frees up an awful lot of time. Anyway, could you point me to some decent surf shops and spots accessible by 2WD? We'll need cold water gear, and just some soft tops. (I'm more into bodysurfing, and my friends are brand new to surfing) Looking for cheap but functional stuff.
