what's a good place to start for shortboarders (loging experience aside)?

i dunno what it was called but it was to the left of a big round shaped hotel. it was the break i surfed the most when i was out there (although I'm a longboarder) - there were lots of shortboarders there too (mainly locals). nice guys though. if you bump into a guy called Charlie (who surfs there alot as he works just round the corner) say hi for me! wish i was going back there. enjoy.

publics if it's not too small. Easy duck diveable waves but you have to watch out for some patches of coral heads.

Oldmans right infront of the OCC its sandy bottom.. if your just learning on shortboard then youll want to stay away from the crowd so you dont piss em off or get hurt

Interesting.. it's directly west from publics. or should i say, a long paddle out from publics if you don't paddle out from the right spot . what's a good place to park?

i usually park near the big fountain and just launch right off from OCC since its right in front

Thaya might be talking about Queen's in Waikiki since I can't think of any other round shaped hotels. As for Diamond Head, you can start off at Cliffs and maybe move on to Right Hands, but stay away from Light House since you might face some localism there. If the trades are really blowing, try Ala Moana. Lots of breaks along that stretch of beach and sheltered from the wind.

I never surfed OldMans, but there's street parking if you get lucky and pay parking across the street at Kapiolani Park.
