any cheap places to live in the u.s with good surf. thats all or most of the year round

if a surfing spot is really good, you can guarentee no-body will tell you were it is lol

I think cheap and coastline living are opposition to each other. Ventura is cheaper than OC or SD. Move to Hawaii, become a bartender on a booze cruise, surf all day, bang hot tourists all night. It should be an easy decision.

How about the Outer Banks in N. Carolina?

Ventura California may be the ticket. Certain parts of San Diego could be, too. For example, there are loads of young-person shared rental around PB and when you get to the north end of the county near San O you find lower cost of living. Another place i can think of quickly is around Lompoc, California. Very cheap and good surf. It's north of Santa Barbara

No offense to the North Carolina outer banks suggestion. it is beautiful there and I'm quite familiar with it, but there is no surf culture there and the California waves are so much better so much more of the time.

I have just been hearing a lot about Cape Hatteras(sp) lately, and apparently the market is somewhat cheap in the Carolinas (I lived in Charleston, SC, and condos/townhouses are fairly do-able for many bachelors).

Is Ventura, CA close to Port Hueneme?

just north of Hueneme. cheap living in parts of Ventura and much of Oxnard.

Lompoc is cheap too....a little colder and windier up there....but usually larger than Ventura.

Go to Puerto Rico. Its pretty cheap tp live and gets atlantic swells most of the winter, In the summer it depends on the swells from storms which are occasionally huge. I'd like to go live in Rincon myself. Pretty much the whole of the north coast is covered by reefs if yuor up for a long paddle and there are lots of fairly good reefs close to the shore. Hurricanes go past the north and south. the surfurs are generally quite friendly too.
