Hi Guys, I'm thinking of plannig a trip to Morocco in Sep/Oct and was wondering does anyone have any advice. Im a beginner/intermediate and would like to have lessons out there as well. Also, would it be adviseable to bring your own board or hire one when you get there?
Any info would greatly appreciated...
Thanks

not the best time of year for a beginner over there, sept/oct tents to be hurricane season and can get pretty big, best bet would be to go to one of the surf camps over there, they will drive you to the best breaks supply boards etc

Not really sure where that chat is coming from, there is no real hurricane season in Morocco. They get a saharan wind from the south which is called the Chergi, but this hits end of July or August. Sep/Oct are a good time to go out to Morocco as weather is pretty hot and the swells start to come back, having quietened off for the summer.
In terms of renting boards there are loads of small surf shop/shacks in Taghazout (just north of Agadir) that rent them out at pretty decent prices, but their selection may not be great, especially if you are after a short board.
I work at surf berbere surf camp in Taghazout as well, we have a pretty good selection of boards and wetsuits, but I reckon most the surf camps do as well. Morocco is a great place to go surfing and taghazout is defo the best place as so many point breaks and beaches in one spot. So doesn't matter what level you are you will find something good for you. Hope this help.

what he is talking about is the carribien hurricanes season, he is talking about swells generated by hurricanes not the storms them selves
