Surfing Waves

Hi all,

I'll be travelling to Bali from june 21 to july 5. During the first week I'll be attending my brother's wedding over there.

In the second week, I'd like to do a surf camp. I'm an avid (wave) windsurfer and have some basic surfing experience. We had 2 nearly windless weeks in Brandon Bay, Ireland last year.
What spots would you recommend for beginning surfers like myself? Do you know any good surf camp organisations in Bali?

I'll be surfing by myself, so if anyone cares to have a surf (or a beer) together, let me know (M/26/Belgium)

i know this dosnt realy apply in your case but whats with all these people going too bali to learn to surf surly it would be better to lern at home or in europe than splash out all that money only to surf beachbreaks

Erm........

Warm water
Consistent waves all day long
No sharks (that's why I go there)
You can live on £5 a day and thats including your hotel
And loads of fit topless birds

well from my point of view id rather save the money till im good enough to surf the reefs

But he's already going to be in Bali for a wedding, so why not stay a little longer and much cheaper than be in Europe? I say go for Bali surfing. We'll catch up when you're in Bali

what's this about? Being jealous? He can afford to go there and it's an awesome place to spend your time, no matter what you do.

I'll be hitting there from the last week of july on. Looking for a good surfschool as well.

BTW: Do you already have a place to stay? 2 years ago I've been at the vilarisi hotel *** right in kuta. It cost me 15E a night and the staff and service was PERFECT!

So guys tell us which surfschool to head to

Too bad, I'll just leave by the time you get to Bali. For a better surfing school, the only one I know is at Mercure hotel. I forget the name, but I'll let you know Monday since I'll be there then. The hotel is right next to Hard Rock hotel, you won't miss it.

I gave my plans a second thought and am considering phuket now as well. The waves are supposed to be beautiful for beginner/intermediate, but dunno know what to think about the monsum. Ever been to thailand (Phuket)?

Im going to be stationed in singapore for next half a year starting from aug, and next to studyin there I'm looking for any surf oppertunity that comes my way - so maybe i can join you for some of your waves.
