Indonesia - Surfing for beginners?

Postby PlugInBaby » Tue Aug 10, 2004 1:33 pm

hi there,

i just learned surfing this year thus i am a very beginner ;-)

i want to go to indonesia next year, because i love the climate and the landscape around there...the point is i have no idea on if there's any not-ultra-crowded spot where you can learn surfing ( or advance )...with teacher and hopefully cheap accomodation...also i dont have my own board yet.

so is there any good place there suitable for beginners in indonesia? for maybe 4-6 weeks. best season?

thanks in advance

Hi there.

Ive been to indo loads, and believe me you will NEVER regret booking that ticket..........its the coolest place on earth!!

There are loads of easy beaches to learn on, mainly in the Kuta (Bali) region. most places are kinda busy, but you can score some quiet surfs early in the morning!!

If you dont have a board its easy to rent one on kuta beach, but its best to take your own.....that way you can go anywhere, anytime!!

If you intend to hire some transport, its easy enough, but you must be a confident driver cos it MADNESS! bikes are cool, but dangerous!! jeeps are better, but make sure your looking in the mirrors ALL the time, cos the mopeds are undertaking, overtaking, and heading straight for you!!

If you need more info on surfspots, accomodation recomendations or anything else give me a shout. fragsyg@hotmail.com

One last thing......check out Baliwaves.com.......ITS THE LAW!!
