Ok, I'm studying abroad my jr year. I might go to Griffith University in Aussie at the gold coast. I didn't set anything in stone yet. My school now offers to Study abroad at Fiji at the University of the south pacific. Usp is located at Suva, Fiji. I understand its a 10 minute boat ride to a nice reef break, but is it easy to get a boat ride? Or do you know of any closeby spots?

FIJI IS UNREAL!
You can only surf Cloudbreak now if you stay at Tavarua, but there are waves everywhere.
Sigatoga, Suva Point, Frigates, Wilkes Pass, Hideaways, Swimming Pools, Majic Island - Namotu... and thats just the Coral Coast.
Head down to Sea Shell Cove and the old Cloudbreak charter will take you out to most breaks.
Cloudbreak is an awsome wave>

Wilkes can be one of the longest rights you will ever surf>

The Tvarua boat trip can provide a multicultural experience...

who owns the resort in Tavarua? How do they stop people surfing there as in how do they actually implement the restriction?

seems a bit ridiculous that someone can own a wave. there's another thread on here about somewhere in the states that surfing is actually banned. what is the world coming to?

Good luck at finding a boat that will take you out there... Its a tribal thing that none of your boat operators will disobey and as for the break itself, it comes with the island. Its owned buy a number of people.
Sufing on a sunday is banned in many of the Pacific islands.
