Beginner in Western France...

Postby intEx » Wed Mar 19, 2008 11:01 pm

Hey y'all

I'm probably going to Western France in a while. I'll be staying there for 4-5 months. Primarily it's to work, get to know the country and the language but I also plan to go surfing often. How's the best way to get into a surfing community? Should I just rent a board (I'm new to the concept), start surfing and hope that I hook up with someone or are there better or easier ways?

It's a bit of a tricky question since it's very different from region to region, I figure, but I was just thinking in general.

all i can say is wherever you get a board, if your in the water on it, you'll begin to chat to other surfers, and possibly make friends with regulars you might see

Okay. I had the feeling that was the way it worked. I'll just try and see what happens when I get there.
