Hey all,

I am totally new to the surfing thing but I've been wanting to get out there and take some lessons and get started. I'm thinking of taking a surf vacation in May to get some lessons in me and the areas I was looking at are Carribean & South America.

Anyone have any experience with surf schools or even all-inclusive vacations that offer surfing instruction just to get my feet wet?
I've gone to a dozen travel agents, went through the internet.. and haven't gotten anywhere.

Any help would be great! :)

For real? I was actually in England in December.. I found some neat places down the coast of France that looked amazing. Where in England?

england, wales and scotland get some epic surf. all around the coast gets waves, just pick a place you fancy and there should be a couple of surf spots in that area. although the waters cold and weathers not great...but who cares

i'm in south america now, if you want good weather stay in the northern part where is tropical, and have ok surf, i think may is not good sur¡ing season in the north, if you want good surf and don't care much for the weather, come down a bit further south, it's not so cold, about 60º but you'll have better surf, check out my webpage, if you have any questions just let me know.

Rent a car do costa......you will score....May will be fine, southern hemi will be cranking by then.....we are getting souths already...this year could be a good one.

Tico will hook you up with maps and all you travel needs.....I recommend no camp....you can find all the spots on your own, and you aren't tied to someones else's program.
I scored with tico in costa.
I got burned in Panama. Stayed at Morro Negrito camp.....sucks....bad food, sheltered small surf....ditched camp to find cheaper, nice rooms, good cheap food, and surf out front.

hi Hermosa beach in jaco is the best place to be and to enjoy and learn surf
Jaco is located in the central pacific coast in Costa Rica, it is a perfect spot and it have constant and consistent waves all days, and now is starting the surf season.

thats right, Jaco beach is perfect for beginners. By the way, if you want to go really down south, I recommend visiting north Chile: dry climate, long beaches and parties.
