J-bay trip.

I am going to J-bay for a week in may.
I know there are several spots in J-bay so I want to know which one is most suitable, I want the easiest ride, with little crownds. (that is why I am going in may, there are less tourists right after the april vacation) plus, do you have any warnings for certain spots, localism ect.

Don't be a dick, did I post anything wrong here, point something out, and if you have doubts I can tell you I live about 100 miles from J-Bay, I live at Mosselbay, if you wounder where that is pick up a detailed map of south africa, check where J-Bay is, and move a bit west and a little south, and you have Mosselbay (right next to george if it is any help). Please, unless I post something wrong don't flame me, flame me in nthe threads I did post something wrong if you want, but leave me be in the threads I didn't.

OK Faf - here's the deal. You post a LOT - fair enough - but you post CRAP - NOT fair enough and rapidly getting boring.

One minute you're asking what board to buy, next you're on threads telling people what board and fin setup will suit them.......

One minute you're asking about what wetsuit to get for winter - closely followed by a reply where you tell people what to wear in the winter in the UK.

Then J Bay - there's a thread with your reply where you make out you're an expert on the place, saying how mellow the break is - now you need advice on it??

And grandma not only comes in for a slagging on this forum, but on at least two other forums where you post the same crap .........

No wonder she thinks you need supervision - perhaps her first thing to do would be to cut down on your internet access so you can have a REAL life, not a virtual one............

Just remember to sit and watch the waves for a while and if you can the other surfers. This way you can have a good feel for where you should paddle out, where you need to be to catch the waves, etc.
Just remember to relaxe and have fun.

Ok thanks, but witch break is there is the slopiest (as in, not that steep, it can drill me, as long as the take of isn't verticle, I don't mind being drilled I just mind being tumbled, since the firt time I got tumbled I don't look at a washing machine the same way.

Well your always going to get tumbled. Just have to remember to go limp and let the wave do it's thing. Don't fight it as the wave will always win and you are just going to use up your oxygen quicker that way. I have never been to J-Bay so that's all I got.

^ Yea I know I am ging to get tumbled I just don't like it at all, and my main worry is my board hitting me skeg first, because I know if I am being tumbled my board is being tumbled twice as fast.

Yea I geuss, I think I sould stop worrying, I mean, I get sprains and stuff almost every time I skateboard, but I useually only get worked when surfing.

When you are surfing though you aren't hitting pavement. If you think about it, as much as you eat it surfing you actually get hurt less then when you are skate boarding. It's part of the gig. If you paddle out scared you aren't going to get better, and you are going to be more of a danger to yourself and everyone else in the water.

I agree partly with you CHarvey. but the way Faf surfs on point breaks etc...he is in for a hard time to learn to surf
