Asking about riding barrels when you have just started surfing is like asking about how to do airs in a half-pipe when you are just learning how to skateboard. But I applaud your curiosity, most of questions you have posted you basically learn by doing- first in easier smaller conditions that you can handle, and then gradually building yourself up.

In any case I think the new wave pool in Bristol, UK offers small barreling waves (as well as beginner and intermediate waves) and is a lot closer to you:

Here’s a barreling wave with a sand bottom ( and it’s close to shore so you don’t need to paddle out so far.

but im a little bit afraid from shorebreaks i must say.

Not at all good, shorebreaks grind stones and bodies into sand :lol: .

Body boards best option unless you have a crazy streak and some shorebreaks are on reef. Even cheesegrating coral reef! :shock:
I've taken up troll hunting just for fun, instead of a rifle I'll just use a pun! 冲浪爷爷
