well, all of this good stuff im hearing about sebastian inlet is making me happy because im moving to a house right across the street from the beach, 5 minutes from the inlet--YAY!

If you're just starting out I wouldn't surf right at the inlet (1st peak). IMO it is a very localized spot (strong pecking order/high skill level) and you will not feel comfortable there. Try to learn up the beach farther north.

anyone know of any good spots in the jacksonville-fernindina area?.....i kno hanna park is good and i can get on a less crowded beach on the millitary base 8) .....anywhere else

The way our sand bars shift, one spot will be good one day, and be dead the next. Check out the pier in St. Augustine, A Street, and Matanzas Inlet. Personally I like Crescent Beach best, just for the fact you can drive on it, and not have to carry all your stuff.

yea....hav you ever surfed by the fernidina pier last week it was good but the sandbar thing is true i usually stay on the boardwalk a few to see where its best at. it is nice to drive instead of cary everything. yea i havnt got a chance to surf st augustine yet thanx for the info bro

Almost anywhere on Jax Beach/Neptune Beach has been yielding some decent beginner (i.e. my level) type waves very consistently. Neptune Beach (right where Atlantic goes and turns into A1A) sucks for parking though. Hanna Park is good, but it costs 3 bucks per trip. I prefer either Jacksonville or Neptune Beach.

In florida very good spot are avilable for surf.In that Many good surf spots-north of Miami up to Palm Beach and also New Smyrna beach.
