Surfing on Crete?

Hi

I'm heading out to Crete with a couple of friends next week- a friend of a friend of a friend has a small place out in Sitia in the east of the Island that we're staying in. Does anyone know if theres anywhere to surf near there? Doesnt have to be amazing , but It'd be nice to catch some waves in warm weather for a change! I know there's some fairly decent breaks along the north coast but its probably a bit far to make it from Sitia in a day..
