Napili Bay, Maui first time surfer

Hi all:

I will be vacationing in Maui during the first week of August and wondered if you guys could give me any useful info. I want to try to learn to surf and will be staying at Napili Bay.

I surfed at a place called Grandmas / LadyLand last year on Maui. Very mellow (hence the names), although you'll need booties for the coral. I don't remember its real name, but I bet someone would be able to direct you if you asked. I think it's actually a state park.
