Hi David, Welcome to Surfing Waves
Western Australia is a great place to find waves. If you are around Perth City there are waves all along the coast, but some of the swell is obscured my Rottnest Island. However, there are waves from Leighton Beach in the south to Trigg point in the north. It's pretty much one long beachbreak. If you have transport then best head south. You are only a couple of hours away from the magical surf region of Margaret river. (they do good wine here as well!). Hope this helps.

Perth Surf

Postby Taj Burrow » Tue Nov 25, 2003 7:03 am

It's not really Taj, but I do live in Perth. I hate to tell you but Perth is lacking in the wave department, if you live in central Perth it'll b a good 15min-3hr drive 4 decent waves. I usually just go down to MArgs (3hrs South) when I need a wave. Although if you dun wanna go far your best bet is Yanchep or Lancelin (45mins North) Hope this helps, and remember Down Under is WIkd

Hi Taj, and welcome to Surfing Waves.
As you are a local Perth surfer perhaps you could give me a bit of info on Secret Harbour - is this the first spot worth stopping at south of Perth - or do you reckon that heading further south is probably more worthwhile?
