Visit any one of the many 'surf conditions' sites (A1, Magic Seaweed, etc) or just plain get a map and see what looks close.

Anywhere SW facing is normally worth a go, or east coast breaks facing NE for a northerly swell.

North Devon is probably the closest to you (in time) but south wales or norfolk could be equally close - the west mids is a big area.....

As the saying goes, seek and ye shall find..........
