Nope,
In Mexico (pacific side)
Looks good, for sure.

I wouldn't bother if you're not an experienced surfer...it's known as the Mexican Pipeline.

Yes, I have surfed it. Its insane, got my ass kicked there! There are lots of other breaks along the coast of Oaxaca, nearby that are lesser known, less crowded and not quite as humbling. There is a place called Chacawa Bay near Puerto Escondido that is dirt cheap to stay, and the wave is much friendlier. This is the stretch of coastline where the movie "Y tu mama tambien" was filmed. I highly recomend checking out the whole area!

I went down to Puerto Escondido last spring. It was great.
A taxi from the Zicatela is 25 pesos; dont pay more, up the rocky outcropping point.

We then went to Oaxaca; but I wish I'd stayed in PE.

"Playa Zicatela is the long stretch of beach located on the east side of Puerto Escondido. It is the main surfing area for Puerto Escondido, attracting surfers from all over the world, and is the site of annual surfing competitions in August and November."
