surfing in florianopolis / brazil

hi my name is chris and i'm in buenos aires right now.
i'm going to south brasil next week and i wonder if any of you guys can recomend me a nice place for beginners to learn surfing...
florianopolis should be great but i have no clue how the conditions are there in mid august...
i don't wanna do a "tourist" surfcamp so i would appreciate if somebody could tell me where i should go since i have never been in brazil before....!!

oi chris. good question...i would like to know the answer to this too. I will be in brasil August 18-28th. Half in rio, half in Florianopolis. would like to find any good surf schools out there. any help would be greatly appreciated. this will also be my first time in brasil.
