Surf Shops in San Jose, Costa Rica?

Postby Pablo » Thu Aug 05, 2004 3:07 am

Has anyone had experience buying or renting boards out of San Jose? I am heading to Pavones and the airline wants to ream me for board transit. I would rather not bother with the Jaco scene to find a board so I can fly/drive straight to Golfito from San Jose. I am looking for something in the 6' - 6' 3" range and ideally would like to find a board I can buy and resell to someone or the same shop.

Thanks for the info! Pablo

There is a surfshop- chain in SanJo, can't remember the name, but they have about five or six shops in SanJo. Some of them have boards. Three of four tablas at the most. The best bet would be going to San Pedro (the mall district). Get the bus from down- town, takes about 4 minutes. Inside the mall, there are 3 shops that have boards, and I'm sure you'll find a board you like in there. If not, there is one shop just south of the mall(along the main road) and there is one north of the church. The one north is more of a skate- shop.

Sure you wanna bring a 6' to Pavones, though?
