Hello, I am planning a trip to the island of Santa Catarina and had a few questions for anyone who has been or has advice.

Would it be best to stay in Florianapolis and take the bus out to the different beaches or stay in a smaller place like Santinho or Praia Mole? Im gonna surf everyday, but want to have fun at night too...

What beaches rent boards?

I'm headed to Brasil for a couple of months and plan on staying on Santa Catarina for about a month to 6 weeks.

I suppose I'll spend a few days in Floripa, but I'll find myself a spot I enjoy surfing and base myself there to get the early morning surfs. Probably somewhere on Praia do Mocambique.

Taxi fares from Florianopolis to somewhere like Campeche arent too expensive if you fancy a night on the town.......about $10 US.

I'm bringing my own boards, but I dont think it's too difficult to find places to rent boards.

I think you should be OK at the beggining of March. It looks like that's when high season ends.

I was looking to rent a car for a couple of weeks in February and saw that the prices between the 15th of Dec til the 15th March is 200 Reals more expensive than the rest of the year
